The new Dylan Jack Quartet record has been completed! Thanks to Warren Amerman over at The Rotary Records and the great trumpeter, Jerry Sabatini. The music is very different from Diagrams and greatly represents the evolution of the quartet’s rhythm section and myself as a composer.
I look forward to sharing this music with the world at the very beginning of 2020. CD release shows/events will be posted as the date gets closer.
Also, be on the lookout for a duo record by Eric Hofbauer and myself in late summer of this year!
Two very different concerts coming this October!
Come celebrate DJQ’s two year anniversary as part of the great Mandorla Music Series at Third Life Studio. Come join Eric Hofbauer, Todd Brunel, Tony Leva, and myself as we will be playing brand new compositions from our yet to be recorded album as well as music from our first record, Diagrams.
Then the next day, go down the street to the Longy School of Music and check out percussionist Andria Nicodemou and myself as we explore the world of field recordings through percussion.
Merrimack Valley Magazine published a piece about me and my music with the Dylan Jack Quartet in their May/June issue. A big thanks to Doug Sparks (editor), Adrien Bisson (photographer), and MVM for having an interest in what I do and believing in the music that I write and the improvisations that my band and I engage in. If you’re local, you can find the magazine anywhere magazines are sold or buy the issue HERE.
There is also an online article called #nowspinning where I talk a little bit about some of music that I have been listening to recently. You can check that out HERE.
The Dylan Jack Quartet will be performing brand new music (as well as a couple from Diagrams) June 8th at the Chelmsford Center for The Arts (1A North Rd Chelmsford, MA). The concert starts at 7:30pm and tickets are $10. You can purchase them at the door or HERE.
The Dylan Jack Quartet had a busy 2017 with tons concerts and the release of their debut record, “Diagrams.” Below are links to some reviews as well as a “best of 2017” mention from Cambridge (UK).
